It might be dog food allergies if your dog is always scratching!

It might come as a bit of a surprise but more and more dogs are developing food allergies. While the exact cause of this is still unknown to us, we do know that there is a very valid connection with the ingredients of the dog foods they have ingested. No one would like to deal with dog food allergies and hopefully you won’t have to. It can be quite an ordeal. As an example, a six-month old black Lab named Bobby which belongs to my neighbor could not refrain from scratching. Bobby was eventually taken to see the vet so he can be evaluated and treated for his itching. Bobby’s owners were not aware about food allergies. They presumed that a skin disorder was causing the itching. They were surprised to learn about the real cause. The vet told them that Bobby had dog food allergies. That’s right, at the young age of six months! They were also told that Labs are right among the breeds that are susceptible to dog food allergies. The veterinarian explained that certain dog breed

Australian Mist Cat Breed

The Australian Mist cat breed was developed in Australia. Back in 1976, Truda Straede developed the breed in Australia, which is why it was given the name it was. It was developed as a cross between the Abyssinian and Burmese, as well as domestic shorthaired cats to come up with a shorthaired cat that has a spotted coat. Its name was originally Spotted Mist, but in 1998, it was changed to that of Australian Mist when cats that had marbled coats, rather than just spots, were accepted with this breed. The Australian Mist cat breed is quite tolerant, so you don’t normally have to worry about them scratching. Even though the kittens are quite spunky, they tend to calm down as they age. They are expected to live anywhere from 15-19 years. They thrive on human contact, so they are content remaining indoors, which works out great for those who are searching for an indoor pet. You can even train some of them to go on a walk outside using a leash. American Curl Cat Breed The American Curl

Cat Health Problems

Cat Sneezing: If your cat is sneezing often it may not be a serious problem.  Cats can be allergic to many household chemicals and detergents just like humans, and a simple visit to your veterinarian is the best way to diagnose and hopefully solve the problem.  Continuous sneezing can indicate a sign of an upper respiratory infection however so it should be always be checked out by your vet.  Fortunately  cat sneezing  is usually not a serious problem but should be monitored and looked into if it is happening too often. Vaccinations: You cam prevent many  Cat Health Problems  by getting your pet vaccinated. Getting your cat a vaccination will provide protection against many potentially fatal diseases and infections. Influenza (cat flu), feline enteritis are common problems that can be eliminated by getting your cat vaccinated while it is still a kitten. They should get the first injection when they are about eight or nine weeks old, and the second one when the reach twelve week

How to buy and check your freshwater aquariums and saltwater aquarium

You are excited about the aquarium you are about to buy. But how can you make sure that what you bring home does not disappoint you and the fishes? Here are some guidelines on checking your aquarium or fish tank before you bring it home.   Rule number one : Check the corners of the aquarium. These could be breakable areas on the aquarium. Big and heavy aquariums are prone to damage if they have been tipped and rested on a corner first instead of being lifted up horizontally. The result can be disastrous when the glass breaks into fragments which may remain compressed in place. It may just crack over time and then your tank will just fall into pieces.   Rule number two : Check the joints between the glass panels to ensure that there is an even coverage of silicone sealant. If an area has been missed, the tank is likely to leak. Do not attempt to cut away any apparently surplus sealant, as this may seriously weaken the joints. Excess sealant may look ugly, but it will be

5 Advantages of Having Water Plants in Your Pond Or Aquarium

Many people have plastic water plants in their fishponds and are quite satisfied with it, not realizing the many things that they are missing out on. In this article, I will tell you about five of the major benefits that comes with having living water plants in your pond or aquarium. You may already know some of them, but I'll be surprised if you knew all of them. 1) They add oxygen to your pond/ aquarium that is vital for the health and survival of the life in an aquatic environment. As you probably know, oxygen is vital even for fish and water does not contain as high a percentage as the air. This often leads to there been a lack of oxygen in many ponds, which is detrimental to your ponds' life health. A simple way to solve this problem is to have oxygenating water plants growing in your pond or aquarium to release oxygen back into the water and replenish the levels of it. 2) They provide a natural environment and hiding places for your pond fish to successfully
